The Process of Forensic Accounting

Although the circumstances will vary according to the type of dispute the following outlines many forensic assignments:

• Initial, non-obligation (no fees) meeting to determine our role in the dispute engagement .
• Agree a course of action with client and, usually, client’s solicitor
• Read, extract, analyse documentary evidence
• Request further information and sometimes assist in obtaining that information
• Assess the evidence and indentify all relevant areas of a particular claim
• Where appropriate, proof a value or proof that a certain events have occurred
• Co-operate with both solicitors for both sides and other expert witnesses as appropriate
• Assess strengths and weaknesses of a particular case from a financial perspective
• Preparation of a Report, capable of lodgment with any Court in Australia
• Liaison and meeting with barrister as appropriate
• Attendance at Court, Tribunal , Mediation or Negotiations meeting. Giving evidence under oath in Court
